High School Player, I am picking 11th with a HS budget of 17mil.

Does anyone have any comparables with no power and low batters eye? I seem to love this switch hitter and I don't know why, maybe I am looking for someone to talk me out of it.

He's marginally worth the 11th pick, IMO.  He'll hit .320, maybe. But he'll OBP only .340 and slg .340.  If a .680 OPS CF is worth the 11th pick, then go for it.  He will play everyday, however.  If you think he can get to .720 OPS, then he's in

Wait a minute....I just went back and looked at the #11 picks in my league (Capra) over the last few years and your guy isn't way out of whack with the Capra #11's, or the position player chosen closest to 11.

Here was a #12 pick, projects to a 95-87-58-58 glove (A question to consider for your guy is whether he can pick up 25 RA pts and 33 GL points).  100-34-64-55-62.  He does have 100 speed and 90+ makeup and 100 baserunning.    GabeReimold

Is a fair comparison. I play in a +1,2,3 -2,-2 stadium...his lack of power seems to hinder him a little, but your guy has better defense. Typically players of that caliber go at the back end of the first round.

Oh, gosh, not at 11.

First of all, your scouts are overprojecting him.  Almost nobody improves a single rating by 30 points, let alone 40.  85 is probably where the contact and VsR are going, and even the glove is unlikely to get much past 80.  Also, his baserunning is not adequate for him to have a high enough SB% to help you out much there.  So he's going to be roughly a .300/.330/.360 player with excellent range in CF.

That plays; bat him 8th and rest him against the occasional LHP and he's an asset.  But I'd want to be getting that at the end of the first round or into the supplemental, not with pick #11.

Really depends on the rest of the draft class, doesn't it?

I don't like him at 11. If he had a better batting eye I would - if he develops perfectly then he may end up a decent lead-off.
