As we start preparing for our 29th season, it looks like the Monty Python Progressive is going to be looking for a new owner to take over the Chicago Cubs (Wrigley Field Stadium) franchise.
Pretty standard 24-team progressive: no cap or roster restrictions, draft order set as of game 120 standings (min 35 wins by G120 or draft position will drop); we have a AAA draft following the regular draft (and do not permit use of the autogenerated AAA guys)
We are nearing the end of the 1996 season and the 1997 draft is probably about couple weeks from getting under way. (aiming for Sept 10 draft start)
If you want a shot at a great league.... let me know
Cubs Roster (1997 potential)
C Jason Kendall, Jim Leyritz, Gregg Zaun, Carlos Hernandez
1B Mark Grace
2B Jose Offerman
3B Chipper Jones, Ed Sprague, Dave Hollins
SS Tony Batista
OF Luis Gonzalez, Doug Glanville, Alex Ochoa
P Frank Castillo, Rich Robertson, Rick Helling, Mike Remlinger, Armando Benitez, Mike Trombley, Russ Springer, Bob Wolcott
DL Rudy Seanez (until 1998), Jason Bere (1998), Luis Polonia (1999), Elmer Dessens (1998), Mike Williams (1998)
also could keep if you really want 'em, but I would probably cut
Willie Adams, P; Mark Langston, P; Mark Thompson, P; Norm Charlton, P
The team has the 4th pick in the first round and has retained all of its draft picks
It's a great league, with many longtime owners.
