I'm at DII... Are ineligible international players less likely to join your team? It would seem this would be the case given the fact that paying their own way is a bigger deal coming from abroad. Not sure if it's like that in HD though...

No less likely, although you do bring up a good point.

Some thoughts:

1. I signed an ineligible international guy before I knew what the hell I was doing.  He showed up.  Also D2.
2. I didn't spend a penny after he considered me.
3. It's at the very least a widely-believed rumor that spending extra bucks on an ineligible improves the odds that he will show up.
4. emy probably knows what he's talking about.

Anecdotal, but... well... I guess just anecdotal.

Then piggy backing off this idea (don't know if I should start a new thread), how often to ineligible players decide not to come?

I've had about 75% success rate with ineligible players.  At D2, you can definitely get bargains with ineligible players because D1 teams will pass on decent D1 guys if they're inel, opening up better-than-normal D1 pulldowns to D2 teams.

the more you spend on a player the more likely he will report, but there is still a large "random" (for lack of a better word) factor involved...

I have never had an ineligible player not report.  But, my sample size is not too large. (I have probably only signed 10-15 ineligibles in 81 HD seasons).

Pretty much never try inelligibles at higher than d3.
