Wouldn't it be nice if when you changed schools as a coach you could somehow convince one of your old team players to "transfer" with you to your new school. Basically have the option to bring one player with you.  

We could all think of 100 reasons this would be a bad idea for the engine/game, so I realize it will never happen, but  wouldn't be nice?  I spent most of my budget 2 seasons ago on a stud player from my previous team and would love to have him on my squad now.  

I guess I am mourning the loss of one of my best recruiting efforts!  Anyone else ever feel like that with an old team or players? 

On the flip side has anyone ever been burned by a team they left the year before?(Maybe a sweet 16 loss or something like that?)

There have been plenty of coaches burned worse than a Sweet 16 loss JJ.  There have been several instances of coaches leaving and the new coach coming in and winning a National Title in their first year at the school.

Edit**--Maybe I'm reading that wrong, do you mean an example like I posted above or the coach's OLD school knocking them out of the next year's tourney with their new team?  Because THAT would suck.

I know lots of coaches leave a team and the following year the old team wins the NT or something crazy like that.   In fact, it just happened this past year in Smith.  The coach at LSU left (scottyj74) and oldman_sons took over and won the NT.  First season.  

I was talking more about a coach leaves a school (say Maryland) to coach at UCLA and the following year Maryland knocks UCLA out of the NT in the sweet 16 or final four or something. Either way, not real important just interested in hearing people's horror stories.    

I kind of thought that's what you meant after I re-read your post.  Can't say I've been unlucky enough for something like that to happen to me (yet), but some horror stories would be kind of interesting to hear.

switched teams within the same conference and my old team knocked me out of the CT with 10 of my players once...

I hate it when a team I struggled with goes on to have a good season under Sammy but it only rarely happens.
