If any of you have ever thought about trying HBD I have an offer for you.

I am looking to recruit one new owner who meets the following criteria:

1) Never played HBD.
2) Has a history of sticking around when joining a quality world.
3) Willing to commit to at least two seasons. (details below)
4) At least a moderate level of success in Dynasty games.

I played one season of HBD and I find it to be a laborious chore/job as opposed to an entertaining game...all the minor league stuff drives me away...would love to see and NBA or NFL dynasty, but there isn't really a shot in hell here, unless someone creates it elsewhere.

It can definitely be overwhelming early on, especially at certain times of the season.
That is why I am making the offer, and will also be around to help out/answer any questions for the new recruit.

Personally I enjoy the minor league stuff and especially finding gems in the amateur draft. That's probably my favorite time of the season, although a bit time consuming if you really want to score some late round surprises.

Well, there really aren't any gems in the draft after the third round, but that's another issue.

I agree.  Great game.  For those of you who wish there was more to HD, HBD is significantly more involved.

Don't worry about colonels, greg.  His disapproval is more likely to garner interest in the game than his endorsement.

I have had Big Leaguers come from as deep as the 12th round. Not All Stars mind you but BL players nonetheless.

Partly due to recognizing value in guys that many would write off as career minor leaguers but who have enough strong ratings they can overcome splits that most wouldn't even consider trying at the BL level.

Also knowing the make up of the world you are in, and where lack of depth makes a certain type of player valuable in that world, where he wouldn't be in most other worlds.

is HBD professional league? do they have the same teams as in real life, or did they make up some teams? i always wondered if it would be possible to make a professional league using the real names, or if you basically have to pay too much to the teams or the major league association to make it happen.

Yes, professional.  You have the ability to name your team and location.  I believe there are some leagues that require you to choose a real ML team name, but typically the names are user-created.
