False.  You have to assume that everyone will show up to school and go by that number.

You cannot.  Only six for the class.

the system works on class designation of the player - so if he shows as FR he counts toward the 6

note, that if you redshirt a guy and he is on your returning roster as a FR, you can only sign 5 more FR

a nonqualifier (at D1) will not play but will come back as a SO
