I got this message... trying to pulldown a d1....  does this mean I still have to wait... or can I pursue him??

Like Weena said, you can get him but you have to pull him down, unless or until he sends you a "drop" message (something like "hey coach I'd like to see what options are at YOUR SCHOOL now, call me").
