One of the dumbest glitches in the game Topic

So, I forgot to renew.  That's on me.  I accept that.  I renewed a few hours after the deadline, and somebody else had already applied for the job.  I accept that, that's the risk involved with not renewing.  So, I had competition for the job, I accept that.  I wasn't ever worried, because I've had a lot of success at Kentucky State, and I doubted a stronger resume would be applying.  I was correct, and I got the job back.

Here's where the stupid glitch comes in...my prestige drops from a A- to B+ on the basis of me being a "new hire."  This is ridiculous.  The sim should be smart enough to realize that it's the same damn coach, and not apply the new coach penalty in an instance like this.  Look, I realize that the diff between A-/B+ at D2 is really not much a diff at all, but it's stupid nonetheless.

I agree it's dumb.  Maybe if you write a ticket, they'll change your prestige

i agree its dumb in a way, but i honestly dont think its worth it for CS to modify the prestige logic over it. there are tons of warnings and reminders, if not that would be negligent, so i think they are non-negligent here, at least. as far as how far you go to help a customer when they make a mistake, and it causes them pain, despite already doing a lot to remind them - there is no clear answer. its a slippery slope and speaking as someone who deals with this in software development regularly, you just have to draw the line somewhere. if you can do a little to help them a lot, its worth it, but this is sort of trivial. its great CS made the effort to let coaches get it right back if they realize quickly. so to me, for once, i can say i feel like CS actually has went out of their way to do more here, and i think they have done a pretty good job with this issue. the pain of losing that partial grade, to me, does not merit effort from CS, and no offense, but if i was them, i wouldn't put it back.

Gillispie, I agree it's trivial.  But you are a programmer, and you how easy it would be to fix this.  It's some  fairly easy & inconsequential coding that would plug that hole.

And, trust me, I wasn't ******** about CS.  Unlike a lot of people around here, I think they do a good job.

CS restored the A-

I don't think it's any dumber than the losing-points-forever glitch.  In your case, you can at least rationalize it - the school doesn't look that great when its coach goes hiking the Adirondack Trail or something, and doesn't renew his contract, leading the school to start a search for a new coach.

Then there's my favorite.  If you have a recruit come in already maxed out in a category, and he loses one or more points in the offseason, he can never recover those points.  You can practice 40 minutes in that category for the rest of his career, but the attribute will either stay the same or drop more - even if it drops into average potential territory.

I kind of agree about CS.  The level-1 folks are not worse than most places, at least, and when you get beyond them they're usually fine.
