RP or SP in free agency Topic

Durability is how often he can go, Stamina is how many pitches he can throw. He'd be an SP, and in my limited experience an SP with 35 DUR is rare.

Is durability of 33 the max cutoff for SP?

I call him an SP based on assumption, because 35/55... It's high DUR/low STA for an SP, yes you could use him as an RP, but I have personally never seen an obvious RP with over 50 STA.

The highest DUR I've seen for an obvious SP was 42, but his splits and pitches were terrible.

If it helps any, I'm pretty sure Jimmie Shannon was classed as an RP when he went on the market.

There are (rarely) "obvious RP" with over 50 STA.

Zack Damon was one I had for a few seasons.

How can you tell what he was classified as?

On the FA page, you cannot screen on SP or RP.  Your only option is "All Pitchers", and they all show up with a position of P.

One way I would guess you could determine if the engine will regard somebody as an SP or an RP would be by the number of pitches they have.  If they have only 2, they are definitely RP.  If they have 4 or 5, they are definitely SP.  If they have 3 . . . that's the grey area.
