When are they going to adjust this mess.  It's just plain ole dull right now.  Just meaningless.

I'm not asking for you to get guys every year that turn into studs,  but for once, I'd like to see a guy that was drafted in maybe the 3rd or 4th round go from marginal ML'er/AAAA to a guy with a shot at being an All Star.

Again, I'm not asking for this to happen to all teams every year, but there has to be some way to make minor coaches and training budgets mean more to DitR's.

You're walking down the street.  Some random dude walks up to you and hands you a $20 bill for no reason at all.

Do you take it and say "thank you", or do you ***** and complain that he should instead be giving you a $50 bill for no reason at all?

In the case of ditr's it's more like you're walking down the street.  Some random dude walks up to you and doesn't hand you anything.  Do you say thank you or ignore him?

Kind of.  But you make eye contact.   So you gotta give a head nod.

DITRs arent completely useless at least not always.  Ive had a couple that turned out to be pretty darn good.  But the decent or good ones only ever turn out to be Cs or short relievers.  That is the problem.  And I dont quite agree with Tecs analogy.  The Ditr bump isnt an unknown stranger it is a feature of this game, and todays Ditrs cant possibly be compared with a 20 dollar bill at best Id compare them to a quarter.  Pretty near useless today.  But comparing them to cash I wouldnt call a good analogy either, Id say something more like a strange pet like a hedgehog would be a good analogy.  At best they can be marginal pets for most people, but in reality they suck because they dont do much of anything except poo and pee everywhere.  (Ive had a hedgehog), and the vast majority of my DITRs have been as satisfying as my hedgehog experiment, useless and annoying.

Terrible analogy my friend.  I'm not asking for a hand out.

If you intend to have this "perk" in the game.  Make it worth something and a bit more realistic.  I mean, if you have proper training budget and coaches, I'd love to see every now and then a 4th or 5th rounder make a significant jump.

That's all.

It's a perfect analogy.  DITR is nothing but a handout.  You don't pay extra for it, you don't budget for it, you don't have any settings within the game for it, etc.

You're demanding a fix for something that isn't broken.  DITR, as a "perk", was never advertised to be anything more than what it currently is.

If you want the process to be changed into something new, then that would be a suggestion for enhancement, and should go into the Suggestions Forum, where it will be promptly ignored by WIS.

I think the problem with it is that, as someone said, they're almost always catchers and RP.  I don't think that's how it was intended.  So if you're going to have the feature in the game, do it in a way where it's a little more even across the board on what players you are getting.

I dated someone who had a hedgehog.  All the hedgehog did was bite me, or roll up into a ball when I acknowledged it.

Also, it's funny asking for a fix about something in HBD. LOL.

I'd like to see every now and again a 1st-rounder get a boost.  Mike Trout was the 25th pick and 2-3 years later is the AL MVP and one of the best players in baseball.  Occasionally a guy like that on hbd should get a random boost to 99 just because that's the way it goes sometimes

MORE RANDOMNESS WOULD BE AWESOME!!!

I HOPE HBD BECOMES A SCRATCH TICKET!!!

Why cantsaid randomness be associated with training, or dare I say advanced scouting budget?

As someone who came to this game late, can anyone explain to me why DITR is even here?

It's not just someone random on the street handing you a hedgehog, it's someone forcing a hedgehog into your care. For a little while, you try to convince yourself, hey maybe I do like hedgehogs after all.

Sorry, but I'm of the opinion that all it does is make you consider a player you never would have considered for a career otherwise. The guy maybe doesn't get cut in AA when you let a similar player stagnate and retire. You hold out hope for a player you never should have. You look at the Rule 5 Draft, and it's littered with DITRs, and yours doesn't even get picked.

And in six seasons, I've never had a single DITR who was a position player other than catcher. I have a DITR catcher who MAY make the majors someday, but only because he's a defensive specialist... and because he somehow got a DITR twice.

Granted, this is an exception, but here's a DITR who ended up wth a nice career . . . 2 All Star appearances, 3 Gold Gloves.
