When I look at a recruit with high potential in FT, I put him down for a 2-increment improvement - say, C- to C+.  That seems to be about the minimum improvement you can expect.  I got bored and looked back through some old players and found a couple of guys who improved 5 increments, and one who improved 6 - D+ to B+ - two full letter grades.

I don't put a whole lot of minutes into FT, though.  Anyone seen a player improve by more than that?

I never keep track of it, but I rarely put more than 12 minutes into FT shooting. I remember a D- guy finally getting to C-, but I don't pay enough attention to FTs I don't think.

I had a player with the same amount of improvement, except from D to B. He had good work ethic (75), and I think I put in about 12 minutes into FT. He maxed out at the beginning of his SR year.

I'm seeing an average of (roughly) 3 grades of improvement for a generic high-potential free throw shooter.  I'm accounting for approximately zero variables, but it's not far from 3, or one full letter grade.

That's two full letter grades by my count, or 6 increments, which is the max I've seen as well.

I brought in a guy with what I assume to be High-low potential in free throws last year so I'm excited to see what it will turn out as. But with one guy the sim recruited he ended his junior year as a b+, dropped down to b at the start of his senior year and then one game in was back up to b+, all with low potential.
