If they aren’t on the active roster for at least 90 days each than the same Rule 5 rules will apply next year. In HBD, I don't know if the same rule applies where the player has to stay on the roster next season if he doesn't spend enough time on the roster this year.
Pretty sure it doesn't. As I said, I've DL'd R5 guys early in the season and left them there until roster expansion. They'd have to be active half the season to reach 90 and they weren't.
