Recruiting effort into ineligibles... Topic

So lets say I signed an ineligible last year and he went juco on me. Now starting the next season exactly how much recruiting effort do you start with? Is there a set number at each division that states if you signed a player at say d2 and he goes juco you start with a certain value or do you start with just the value of how much cash you had dumped into him before he signed? Hope this makes sense. Thanks fellas.

You get some credit for the effort you put in. I think it is around 25%.

Yea I knew you got some credit but yes that is my exact question. About how much credit do you get? If 25 percent is the answer than that is lower than I figured. Thanks for answering Trentonjoe!

I've never been big on recruiting IE's.I did notice sometimes if they don't show, the following season they will be considering the school that had signed them, and sometimes they don't. Always wondered if it was the amount spent or random.

The last time I signed a guy the year after he went juco on me it cost me $110. I was lucky that nobody else went after the guy. This was with my DII team and the next year he showed up on my DI list. I did not spend much money on him during the previous cycle. I don't remember how much exactly but it couldn't have been more than a couple of thousand; a few scouting trips and a couple of home visits.

Unless you want the guy badly or he is just an absolute stud, I would start out slowly on him

my impression is that it is apx 50%, but could be wrong or obsolete info

I am pretty sure it is less than 50%.   I know I have sunk more than 10 HV's into an ineligible, had him go JUCO and then NOT consider me  at the beginning of the next cycle.

Two seasons ago and I had an AI on my D2 team go JUCO after putting in 2 CV only to him.  The following season I started as being considered.  I wonder if there's some randomness involved.

25% - same as carryover %

Hmmm, that never happens to me!  Did the guy start out as a D2 recruit?   I have noticed it's very hard for me to keep ineligibles that drop down from going JUCO.   If I pull them down, they come to school but if I wait for them to drop, they don't report.   Granted, I only put more than minimum effort in a few times and what I may be recalling is players who dropped, I recruited, went JUCO and then showed up on the D1 screen as sophomores.

There has to be some randomness invlolved Darnoc. Last year in Iba d2 I signed this kid only putting in around 1,500 in recruiting effort and he is already considering me right now for the next seasons recruiting.

I'm not sure...I'm guessing he started on my D1 list.  I found him a couple cycles before signings in RI or NH (I'm in GA).  The only reasons I even threw him 2 CV were I had tons of money leftover and couldn't find any other big I liked, so I was really hoping the loose correlation of more effort increases chances of reporting would reward me.
The following season he started on my D2 list (obviously, as he was considering me from the beginning).
