How much do defensive statistics play into selecting the mvp candidates?  Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Dick Ledesma is 2nd in hits and rbis  4th in avg 13th in hrs 7th in runs and 2nd in hits...  He has better offensive stats then at least 2 of the 5 guys selected.  And he was snubbed at being a candidate last season as well.

Play him at 1B, he racks up + plays and is a MVP candidate.

Awards, such as MVP, are fun to get, but the bottom line is putting your best nine in your lineup and in the overall most optimal positions.

I wouldn't move guys around on the field just to maximize their chances of winning an award.  You can move this guy from LF to 1B, but then who are you going to put in LF?  If the guy you put in LF is a lesser player than the guy you're forcing out of the 1B job, then you're doing yourself a disservice for all the wrong reasons.

Well he certainly shouldn't be in right or at third, defensively speaking.
