ratings are solid based on what I understand of the game.   Control is pitiful...   but can control ruin a pitcher this badly?   FYI - He has achieved max ratings.

Control of 32 will not be effective in the major leagues.  He's averaging over 6 walks per nine innings.  That's a lot of baserunners.

what a waste...  he is superior in EVERY other rating - even has a P5

Well... nobody ever got anywhere without risk...  I am going to give him a few starts next week with 65 innings max.    I don't know enough about the game,, but perhaps there is a hidden performance boost if the player is slotted correctly.   5 or 6 inning starter?      I really hate to close the door on these ratings.

The **** control cancels his good ratings. Just the way it is. Don't bother wasting any innings on him.

with that control he'd need 90's splits, along with 90's in p1, p2 and GB to be 'good'.

Bah humbug

This nails it.

The best thing to counter poor control is outstanding splits.  While 70/78 are very good, they're just not good enough to offset a control of 32.  90's is pretty much what you need..

He's not terrible, but he's pretty bad.  In 151 innings, 39% of batters get on base.

Look at it this way:  If you had a lineup of 9 guys who had a .385 OBP and slugged .430 then you would have a pretty potent lineup.

That's what the average lineup is like when he pitches.  In my league last year, the best NL team had an full-season OPS (OBP + Slg) of .782, the best in the AL was .805.

Your guy makes every team a league best offense.

Humbug?  Bah....

He's just bad.

This. I've seen some pitchers be serciveable with 30s in control. But all of their other key rating, splits, 1P, 2P, etc have to be 85 or 90+.
