Internationals at DIII Topic

So i signed up for a DIII team to give me a new challenge. I'm in Maine, so not a ton of prospects numbers wise to choose from within 300 miles. But, there are some in Canada at the DII level that might be interesting if they drop down.

Anyone have success doing dropdowns with intls at the DIII level? Without being to scout, am I asking t be shot i the foot?

When I was at Maine-Presque Isle, I would *very* rarely get an Ottawa/Toronto kid to drop onto my D3 chart. It's a bit of a lottery thing, so make sure the key positional values start at something that's usable as-is...that way if you get lucky and those categories are black or blue when he signs it's a bonus. At UMPI I would dig into Puerto Rico or the Canadian drop-down market from time to time. Maine is a challenge if lots of the other northeastern schools are human-coached because you're (almost) always dealing from a position of disadvantage against a huge population of schools that clutter the D3 New England region.

The challenge is one reason why I chose Maine. I was originally planning on going to DII, but having 7 open scholorships, b- prestige and this fun challenge drew me in. Only one other human coached team in the conference, and he's a brand new owner (at least in this one world). But there are a ton of schools in general in the northeast.

Yeah im in the northeast as well granted im in one of the power conferences... you have your work cut out for you trobone... especially this year the recruits were pretty poor. I had to recruit in west virginia to find players I liked.

yea, i'm not really a huge fan of any of the guys I've signed. Waiting with cash to see what opens up. My conference is pretty horrible though. Sims have ba players and more bad ones coming in. No reason I can't win the conference or come close to it in year 2.
