all things being equal (distance and prestige) will a d2 recruit drop down to d3 at the same time for two schools, one at the d2 level and one at the d3 level OR does the recruit drop quicker for the d3 recruit, making him more recruitable (or marketable)?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the question but why would a D2 recruit have to drop down for a D2 school?

Do players not drop down past a coach's level so a d1 recruit wouldn't drop down from a d1 team's d1 list? And a d2 recruit won't drop down from a d2 team's d2 list? Thought they did but I guess I never paid attention.

they do not
at low D1 players can drop down while being listed as D1 the whole time. not sure if i understood tge question though
