This is what I've proposed for a 'Grand Prix' point system for the overall '2014-15' champion. Let me know what you think.

Grand Prix Points
1 pt/win
4 pt for 1st & 2nd round PO wins
6 pts for division championship
8 pt  conference championship
12 pt league championship

I'll offer a 6 pack for the overall 5 season points champion and a free league for the next 3 runner-up's. This should up the competitive nature of the league a tad...

I love draft leagues but never feel like I'm on my game with these decade drafts.  The real cornerstones were gone by the bottom of the first round but I felt okay about starting out with KJ, who gives me a good start on assists and FTAs.  He doesn't shoot 3s, but those will be hard to come by in the '80s anyway.  Sikma was a desperation pick given that I didn't want to hold the draft up any more than I already had.  Mediocre efg% and very low on oreb%, but his usg% and D will give me some flexibility when it comes time to pick my other starting big.

I'm loving my draft board right now, but I know it's an illusion...it'll be annihilated by the time my third round pick comes up.

It takes me awhile every season to wrap my mind around a decade draft, they always look terribly shallow in the beginning then look much deeper by the end. We're too use to cherry picking everywhere else..and that's why we have the DDL. I'll always remember a team lead by Connie Hawkins won it all...LMFAO. I haven't used Jordan in a draft before this and I' hope I can find what it takes to build a Jordan team. ugh..I hate ABBA. What the hell..he never had a decent Center IRL either.

I'm sure you're right.  At the moment it feels like I'm on track to be rounding out my roster with anonymous scrubs, but I know with these decade drafts my definition of "appealing player" changes considerably with each round.

Taking Tree in the third round, I'll now be desperate for usage at the wing spots.

i dont like the bonus points at all....

mvp will be jordan(unless you screw it up) or maybe moses...really only 5 teams at most have a chance of winning it

6th man usually just goes to the sub that plays the most mins...so i can start a guy for 10 min and play the better guy 35 mpg off the bench to win the award....weak

#1 defense and #1 offense can be greatly affected by the random division....if i have an awesome offense and get stuck in a division full of half-court defensive teams, i wont score as much...seems unfair

3s? in an 80s league? why do they deserve points? why not ftm or reb or anything?

all-star selections are purely number driven....my pg might be leading me to a league best record with his defense and a/t ratio...but he would lose an allstar spot to some other pg who shoots more or plays more mins...again unfair

its a nice twist but i dont see how those awards should affect the overall champ

that being said....youre the one putting up the dough for the prize..so really you can do what you want...just wanted to offer my opinion on it since you asked...ill be fine either way

OK, I'm not all that worried about the bonus pts, I just threw them in for fun. We'll remove the the bonus pts, in a number of respects I agree with dh.

After some thought I've changed the pts value.

Grand Prix Points
1pt/win
4pt - 1st & 2nd round PO wins
6pts - division championship
8pt - conference championship
12pt - league championship

I just remembered, only 3 teams broke the 50W mark last time we played in the 80's....

Lots of player got major jumps in the draft...Cummings, Tarpley, Kermit, Gus. Some of these players moved 20-30 spots. Apparently a year doesn't erase who slap'd you around last time. We have 9 of the owners from DDL#1..who seem have long memories.
