I have a player on my roster, who has guaranteed starter status, because of a recruitment promise.  Am I still obligated to continue to start him once the conference, and  national playoff tourneys start?  Or, is my obligation to him over at the end of the regular season?... Thanks in advance for your help on this matter.

While other vets will be able to help, I saw someone once said 75% if that helps at all.... Depending how many games you have on the NT! ;)

I have heard that starting him in the CT can help his WE improve, but it is not required. You do not have to start him in the NT or PIT.

Promises stop when the CT starts. Roughly speaking, as long as you start the player about 80% of your games you should be good to go.

In the regular season, do not fail to start him in 2 consecutive games, or he will scream, no matter how late in the regular season it is. Also, if you have failed to start him enough during the regular season and his WE took a drop, starting him in conference tournament games may get the threshold back up and jump the WE back up...happened to me a few seasons back.

darnoc is spot on -- promises on minutes and starting status cease once the regular season ends. You are free to start whomever you want in the CT, PIT and NT without fear of player freakouts.

concur w/ red and darnoc, however bobmeyer is spot on as well - if (for whatever reason - for instance, injuries - if a player is promised a start he expects to play and get that start if he is at 60% health or above, even though most people would still rest a player at 60%) anyway, if the player is below the magic number of % of starts, starting in the postseason counts towards his overall total, so it may help you meet the requirement, but is not itself required, if that makes sense...

If you have met your obligation (ie the kid is not letting you know he's ******) then promises can be discarded after the reg season.

If you promise a player ice cream, but all you have is frozen yogurt, does that meet the requirement?

I feel that frozen yogurt is at least 80% as good as ice cream, so I'd say yes.
