If you cut players and you don't fill up your roster. Can they come back as Walkons if no one else signs them?

How do they determine what walkons you will get?

My first season and I have six openings that may or may not get filled by players I have offered scholarships too....

Your cut players will not come back as walkons.  I haven't tried to re-recruit cut guys, but I've read in the forums you have 0 chance of resigning them after you've cut them.  For walkons, the computer randomly assigns guys to your team, and they are terrible.  They'll never play.  Just make sure you don't offer them a scholarship and they'll leave after the season.

jesusloves, Why would you cut them if you might want them back?

Are the walkon players assigned taken from the list of players available and not signed or are they from somewhere else?

Has anyone ever got a walkon worth keeping?

In my second season I kept a walk-on because he had 60 defense. None of his other ratings were that good, but I didn't know what I was doing back then. I think for almost all walk-ons if you give them a scholarship their WE will go up to 100. However, that is not very helpful if they have no potential.

Here is an example of a walkon.  Once in a blue, blue moon you might see a walkon with decent ratings, but it's extremely rare.  Most have only red or black potentials when they are assigned to your team.  And no, they aren't taken from the pool of recruits (though, this would make a little more sense).  They are just random, terrible players put onto your roster.

As I said before, as long as you don't offer them a scholarship, they'll leave after the season is over and you'll get money to fill their slots.  So if you have 2 seniors and 2 walkons, you'll get 4 scholarships worth of money the following season.
