Is thier a specific reason I have to wait to recieve my recruiting budget until the period actually begins? I feel like it would only make sense that the budget is given at the start of the season, I'd love to use some money early in FSS to help scout and build a list, As of now I'm only building my recruiting summary based off of skills and not potentials. I find I'm moving everything around once I get my budget and can see the potentials.

Has their been an actual reason why we don't get any $ until the period starts?

Would it be possible to be given $ for the graduating players (guranteed openings) at the start of season and then a second $ dump for post season performance and for D1 early exit players?

It would be to easy to " cheat". You could spend all your money on fss , save the info and then switch jobs and get a whole new budget. It would also leave the new coach in a bit of a lurch if his money was spent.

Also, you can use your carryover money on fss. That's what I do.

Ya I guess it could be a way to cheat but thats unfortunate.... Lately I haven't had enough carry over money to use on the FSS. :(  o well

Wow, I just realized that you could potentially do this when switching jobs if you have a lot of carry over budget from the previous seasons. If you are switching jobs at DI, you could possibly put the whole bill on one team and not buy FSS once you switch. Although, I guess FSS costs relatively less at that level.

As far as using the carry over budget, I would say let the coach do as he pleases with it since he technically earned it. With that said, does carry over money stay if a coach changes jobs?

No if a coach leaves it wipes the budget clean but the new coach would still get post season money I believe.

I think, but I am not sure, that it depends on when you get the job.

I have taken over teams that have recruiting cash.. And some times it is zero.

Maybe if the team is SIM coached it is always zero, and of course it is zero if the other guy (human or SIM) took a walk on.

carryover cash stays if a coach leaves, I have taken over a school with $1,500 in the bank.
