Somehow I accidentally promised a start to a recruit and didn't want to is there any way of taking it back because I want the guy but really don't want to start him??

but beware, the inform of RS button is like negative effort - you may lose him or may need to do more to get him

i've found that 2 or 3 home visits during the cycle when you advise of your desire to redshirt him - will take the sting away. if you don't spend the home visits, he may drop your school from consideration...and you'll need to put more effort to sign him.

Also, if you inform of redshirt, and then the same cycle inform of non redshirt, it will still take away the start, but not have AS MUCH negative affect on his consideration.  But if you do that, I believe it also makes him a lot less likely to accept a redshirt if you chose to do that.
