2 Openings in 2003/04 and 2004/05 Prog. League Topic

We have 2 openings for a double season progressive that started with the 1967/68 & 1968/69 seasons, the first two years of the ABA. We will soon be starting season 18,2003/04 & 2004/05. We are currently posting keepers, season 17 has 27 games (14 days) left. The draft will take place after 2 replacement owners are found, all keepers are posted and I have completed the available player list. Each season you will be able to select which of 2 seasons you want to use for each of your players (assuming they are active both seasons). The upcoming season (18) you may use 2003/04 or 2004/05, the following season (19) you will be able to use 2005/06/00 or 2006/07 etc.

Information on the teams available is posted below.

Rookies for the 2003/04 and 2004/05 season include Lebron James, Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade and Carmelo Anthony as well as a number of other good players, including Andre Iguodola, Josh Smith, David West, Al Jefferson and Luol Deng.

Drafts for the remaining 5 seasons in the league's life starting with 2005/06 and 2006/07 running through 2013/14 and 2014/15 will all be very deep and include many of todays star players-join now to see how the current stars perform !!

No rookies, no WW. Trades of players OK and draft picks one season in advance only.

Drafts subsequent to the initial draft will be in inverse order of regular season record, with the tiebreaker being total point differential (points scored less points allowed) with the team with the worse point differential drafting earlier. However, as an anti-tanking provision for the 1st round only there will be a weighted lottery among the 4 teams with the worst record for the first 4 draft positions. The same tiebreaker will be used for these positions.

Since this is a progressive league I do request that you not sign up unless you expect to be able to participate for at least 5 seasons.

If interested please sign up below and you will be given temporary access to the league's private forum. If you want one of the teams, you will need to post a keeper list for season 18 as soon as possible after you have reviewed the team's roster and decided which players to keep.

The first team available is the Kansas City/Omaha Kings (the team can be moved to any unused city that will fit geographically in the Pacific Division.

The team's roster for the 2001/02 and 2002/03 season was:

Jarron Collins C
Michael Finley SF
Steve Francis PG
Allan Houston SG
Bobby Jackson PG
Marc Jackson C
Christian Laettner PF
Desmond Mason SG
Cuttino Mobley PG
Hakeem Olajuwon C-Retired after the 2001/02 and 2002/03 season
Michael Olowokandi C
Michael Redd SG

There will be at least 184 players (plus cuts) available in the draft.

The team's record in the 2001/02 and 2002/03 season is currently 21-34 with 27 games left in the season. It appears likely the team will be drafting 4th-to 7th in the 2003/04 and 2004/05 draft, and consequently will have an excellent chance to draft one of the 5 superstars listed above or worst case one of the following  very good players: Andre Iguodola, Josh Smith, David West, Al Jefferson or Luol Deng.

The second team available is the Spirits of St. Louis (the team may be renamed or moved to any unused city that will fit geographically in the Central Division.

The team's roster for the 2001/02 and 2002/03 season was:

Gilbert Arenas PG
Jason Collins C
Eric Dampier C
Desagana Diop C
Tom Gugliotta PF
Othella Harrington PF
Allen Iverson PG
Ruben Patterson SF
Anthony Peeler SG
Eric Piatkowski SG
Wally Szczerbiak SF
Ben Wallace C

None of the team's players retired after the 2001/02 and 2002/03 season. There is no limit on the number of keepers or the number of players who can be cut. There will be at least 184 players (plus cuts) available in the draft.

The team's record in the 2001/02 and 2002/03 season is currently 25-30 with 27 games left in the season. It appears likely the team will be drafting 8th to 10th in the 2003/04 and 2004/05 draft, and consequently will have an excellent chance to draft one of the 10 stars listed above

There is an opportunity to see (and draft some of) all the great rookies who debut in the NBA from 2003/04 through 2014/15 in this league's last 6 seasons !!

At the end of the 6 seasons I will give $20 in gift certificates (2 free seasons!) to the owner of these 2 teams who achieves the best W/L Pct. for the 6 seasons, and $10 in gift certificates (1 free season !) to the other owner.

The gift certificates are predicated on owners remaining in the league for all of the last 6 seasons.

This is a great league and let's see it through to the end!.
I'll take the K.C.- O. Kings on as a second team.

I'll take on the St. Louis squad as a second team if there isn't a new owner wanting to join in.
