I struggle with the knowledge on what to do with a pitcher like this guy Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Xander Miranda  I see so many people give up on a player like this and I wonder myself is his control so low that he is of no use in the ML? Where would his talents be best used? Am I relying on the AI projections too much and seeing some of the projections and putting too much value in them?  I learned today that 10M isn't really a lot for Advance so am I just banging my head on the wall until I learn to project players or spend more on Advance?

Mike do you typically leave a guy like that as a starter? Or are guys with limited control and ok other values better in a different role?

I generally have 6-8 pitchers with starter stamina.   My best 5 begin as starters.   I usually have 2-3 that will stay there all season regardless of results.   The others get moved from SP to LR to SP until I find someone who can fill out my rotation.

One thing that's very important to learn is that players usually don't develop much once they have 4 years of pro experience. There are exceptions, especially with pitchers. But generally after 4 years the player won't have any drastic improvement left.

I wouldn't give up on him. He might still improve 1 or 2 points in control, vR, speed, and pitches 2,3,and 4. That might end up making a pretty big difference in his stats by the time he's 26.

1) 1-2 points per category-- which is a high side estimate, I personally think he's not gaining anything given his lack of development last season and this season-- won't change his performance very much.
2)  I found a few comps for him; the weighted average was about 10% worse than park-adjusted league average.  About halfway between average and replacement.  I don't think you'll want to take him to arb more than once, but he'll be a useful LRB as long as he's making close to the minimum.
