Can a new owner resign a type A? Topic

I once knew the answer to this but I have been away from HBD for a few years.

Is it still pretty much impossible to resign a type A?

I am talking about a new owner who is taking over a team and inherits a type A free agent. That would be my situation.

If HBD has made any changes, and it is now possible, I'd like any pointers you might offer.

Try overbidding by at least 20%.

I'll try overbidding and see what happens. The guy is basically the only decent starting pitcher I have if I can resign him and he's only 28. So it's worth a shot. If not then it's not  a big deal. This team probably won't be a contender this season. Thanks guys.

This is not a problem that's unique to a new owner taking over a team.  Some Type A's will always want to test the FA market, regardless of if it's a carry-over owner.
