If the general core for guards shooting 3s is SPD + PE + BH + IQ, is it the same for big men? If so, are those stats relative to the people guarding them? Because a C (especially at the lower divisions) is probably never gonna have that high of a SPD and BH. But maybe a 50 BH/50 SPD/50 PE would be more than enough against a much slower defender and/or coming off a perfect screen.
Does the type of defense matter? If you're facing a zone, are you overloading the defenders for easier shots--how does the zone react? Against a m2m, does the defender have to chase to the perimeter and thus it's relative SPD that matters? A press, is it relative speed again or some weird combination of who happens to be trapping.
Depending on the answers, I have some big men who could be 3pt threats (now or eventually) Next season I'll probably experiment more, but I wanted to check with the experts.
