Injured player on arb list Topic

I have a player who came off rollover with an injury.  He's 38, was a backup C last season, and under normal circumstances, I'd cut him rather than go to arb.  However, he is injured for 21 days.  

Will I still be allowed to cut him, or will I be forced to arbitrate because he's injured and cannot be released?
