I am looking to add another team (Tacoma), but their park is -4 all the way around, how much will this affect home games played there?

You're opposition won't score much, either.

I've had one team in Tacoma. Did very well there. Your players won't fatigue nearly as quickly during the course of the season. My pitchers loved it. And one thing I found - legitimate home run hitters will still hit home runs there.

My team is in San Diego (-3,-3,3,-4,-4) and it's a blast. Your pitchers will be reveared as gods. Lots of complete games and shut outs. Your bats will avg about .220. Good times.

I've been in Portland (-4,-3,-4,-2,-2) for three seasons.  Led the league in most team pitching categories all three, and my starting C has a PC of 44 - but I also emphasize above average defensive position players.  Made the playoffs all three.

My pitching was decent to begin with, and I had been playing in Wrigley to try to help out my bats, but all it did was beat up my pitching.

I don't get many complete games because my pitchers don't have the DUR/STA combo for that.  And my pitchers run into fatigue occasionally because since we're low scoring, we usually play more innings than most other teams.

My bats don't average .220, more around .240.  If we get it up to .250 that's when we're hot.

Free agent batters won't want anything to do with us.  And our pitchers won't win any awards unless they post a ridiculous season.

Overall, I just decided I preferred trying to win games 3-2 over losing games 8-7.

I won a world series in Tacoma.  My position players are all above average defensively and almost all have 85+ speed and baserunning.......Basically the way the Cardinals played in the '80's.  I've won gold gloves and Cy Young awards but no silver sluggers.

Here is the big thing I have noticed with defensive parks. There is no pitcher that I would pay a max contract for. I just can't justify it for 35-40 games a year. All the players I would offer a max contract to, someone else is going to do the same and having a pitching park will work against luring them to you.

Kinda have to agree with you on that.

A little confused by this post... I would think having a pitching park would work for you tyring to lure pitchers away from others offering max contracts. What am I missing?

What he is saying is there is no reason to spend a boatload of money on pitchers. You can get average pitchers at bargain prices during the last 2 days of free agency, and have them perform well for you. You need to focus on getting position players with good defensive skills and a high OBP. The old adage 'a walk is just as good as a hit' is especially true at places like Tacoma. On the flip side, you can't have pitchers who walk people. Good control is a must.
