Resigning a player prior to FA Topic

I have e aplyer who is giving the message "Let's be honest, I will sign with whoever shows me the money". Will I have a good chance to resign him at his asking price or do I need to go above to better the signing odds? Or is this one of those messages that is really saying that he is gong to be a FA?

I was hoping to get the best strategy approach to read gn him fro one of the experienced owners. Thanks.

If you're getting that message after budget day, then he'll probably resign with you.

If you're getting it on or before budget day, all bets are off.
