GRAB A 6-PACK Topic

So I got bored because NOBODY was on live (that I had a games with) and started thinking how many times I've faced Walsh, Joss, Brown, Maddux, Pedro....and the list goes on and on over and over again in live games and decided I was going to come up with a new theme league that took the repetitiveness out of the game that I really do enjoy playing but have lost a little desire to do so because of the monotony....and so it was born!! THE SIX PACK!!

I thought long and hard how to separate the studs amongst 16 owners where all teams could still be competitive not only in the league but also in the TOC for those lucky enough to to get there. I went with $120 mil, no AAA, CLONES, DH, or TRADES (at this time) YES to PP, QS, 40 live to make the playoffs. I've also decided to allow any stadium at this point.

So I decided to take the top 60 or so SP sorted by WHIP# filtered by IN/162 greater than 100 less than 600 and HR/9# below .5. Then divided (as evenly as possible) them in groups of 3 trying to come as close to 750 IP. I managed to get all 16 groups between 740-760!! Now this group will make up your "can't cut list" (WW is open by the way), they must remain on your roster till the end. Also there are multiple occurrences of players in these groups so years listed are specific to each owner and also any player who appears in any group is blacklisted from the league. So when filling out the rest of your pitching staff you may not choose anyone who has been selected by me to be in a six pack even if they have other worthwhile seasons. You may not change the year assigned to the six pack either.

The hitters I chose to sort by RC27, you'll get 3 an OF, IN, and what I'm calling a PH. Same rules apply, can't cut these guys. Criterias for filtering IN and OF were below $10 mil, 600+ PA, .325+ AVG#, .375+ OBP#, SO/100AB 0-15, FIELDING and RANGE "B" and above. For the PH I chose the same except for they're all below $2 mil., 0-150 PA and dropped the F & R. I also weighed in that some of the PH's fielding and range might come in handy so I moved the ones with value to the top of the PH list.

I like the idea of the first go round letting owners select as they join just to see how people value the strengths and weaknesses of each group compared to the order in which I would pick, as I'm going to take the leftover pack, then going forward the groups can be modified and maybe groups even need added if 24 owners are interested. The salary differences should be the equalizer between packs, you'll have more money to spend on the remaining 19 players your going to pick if you have a weaker pack but looking at them I don't believe there's any one pack that can't win. I'll list the packs when I get the opportunity probably later today!! Thanks

A bit confused ... A Six Pack League? ... Teams required to draft players a number of players from six different set of skills in their line ups (e.g. low ERA/WHIP pitching? strike out king pitchers? excellent fielders? HR kings? 200+ hit hitters? base thieves? ... That would make a nice 24 team league with six divisions! ... Or in a 6-pack league are we just talking about players with drinking problems? ...

Take a look at the first set, whichever set you select are exclusively yours, then you fill in the remaining roster with what's left of your $120 mil. But any player listed on the 16 packs is blacklisted, the individual not just the year.

Ok that's all 16, first come first serve, I'll take the last pack. I'll post the Blacklist in the reserved post tonight.
