Lafayette in Knight
I am pretty sure its a solid if not great D- build up for not being a great/elite coach, I'm not planning on winning a NT game but expect a bid through a CT or if not hopefully rpi/sos. More looking at the players specifically guards as I have a few questions as I'm still not really sure what works best exactly. Not really focused on depth chart help specifically more of what players work best overall so I can use it to help decide targets in recruiting and for my other and future D1 build-ups.
Guys like
Scott Vachon, I know he isn't the greatest ath/def(66/70) but maintains 97 spd 70 bh and 76 pas. I figure I am right in going with a more ath/def/bh player in
Sean Rhynes as my point guard with 71 ath 84 spd 91 def 99 per and 53 pas.
Would Vachon be a good PG backup or a starting SG, I have been going with
Lino Zeisler and
Simon McCahill as my SG/SF even with both being lower bh/pas they have better ath/def and McCahill has been a solid scorer.
Basically everyone is finished developing that see's minutes, the only one is a C with a low WE who should finish as he will start next season(Wenzel who is mid 70's ath, 99 reb, 82+ def, 82+ lp pot)
At low D1 where I wouldn't really expect to win a NT game is it a bit better to sacrifice some ath/def to gain ratings in spd/bh/pas and possibly some per threats. Since I would be focusing on beating sims and other low end D1 programs who won't have such elite ath/def ratings?
As well as are they're other things I can do at Lafayette to help prepare for better jobs such as gameplanning, better recruiting, etc as I'm hoping my goal is to move up to a big 6 and rebuild and stay there until I get one of my "preferable" final jobs in Knight
Thanks
