I have an arbitration guy I can't sign, as I'd go over the cap. Neither long term or in arbitration. Can I trade him still? Arb ends in 12 hours.

My memory is that what happens here is that you sign him and you get an automatic, penalty-free budget transfer to cover it.  Can anyone confirm or refute?

I went ahead and made him an offer in arb, and he accepted. It put me over my budget, but it worked. After the trade is approved I'll be back under.

uugh the trade hadn't been approved yet, so the game adjusted my payroll and deducted from other areas. That could really hurt me as the season goes
