I have 2 players,

Player 1: Range=72, Glove=88. 239 games in CF, 15 assists/5 errors, 0+\24- plays, range rating 2.74
Player 2: Range=89, Glove=72. 140 games in CF, 1 assist/15errirs, 9+\0- plays, range rating 2.20

I lean toward player 1 but the +\- is really sticking out to me

Thoughts??

I wouldn't even consider a 72 range in CF.  The RF is just an aberration.    Player 2 is a far better CF.

Mike, that was my immediate thought too. The -24 plays for Player 1 indicates just how many balls he isn't getting to, can't even be sure how many extra hits the team gives up because of it. I wouldn't use a player with that rate of minus plays at ANY position (possible exception - C in RF).

Is it fair to say that the 15 errors for Player 2, with a 72 Glove, are just as much of an aberration? What about his arm, how many of those are throwing errors?

With a 72 glove in CF, I'd say most of those are dropped balls.  Low glove gets penalized a lot in CF.

1) Outfielders don't make throwing errors-- it's a long unfixed bug. It doesn't make AA meaningless for OFs-- you can still fail to throw out a runner-- but it diminishes its impact.
2) A long while ago, before I knew what the hell I was doing, I played a guy similar to player 2 in CF.  15 errors per 140 games is slightly on the low side.
3) Mike's correct about the difference in CF quality between the two players.
