On my Ohio Wesleyan team in Knight that I just took over, I had to fill 10 schollies in my first recruiting class.  One of the players that I signed was a D1 transfer -- William Selby. He is a senior, he is an A- in motion (my offense) and I recruited him thinking he could help win some games this year while the young guys took their lumps.

He is almost 150 points higher than my second-highest rated player (633 to 489), he has the highest PER on the team (77) and decent ratings across the board (other than low athleticism).  I set him at the beginning of the season with the highest distro on my team.

Here is his game log:

The first game tracked with roughly what I expected out of him this season (and was also my closest game so far).  But in all of the other games, he just disappears scoring-wise. I checked the box scores and he's not getting double teamed. He's not bricking shots -- he's just not taking them. I've fooled around with his distro and nothing seems to move the needle. What am I doing wrong?

What is his distro? That's not even close to what other players are taking if he has the highest distro

Make sure you hit save to all defenses when you set the distro, and not just save.  I peeked at it, and saw that the your first game was against a press team, and since then the only press team you players was Worcester St.  Butt he was in foul trouble only played 15 minutes and that could be an anomaly.  Make sure his distro is up for all defenses.

Now, if I could give some unsolicited advice.  Through 7 games this season, it's obvious you are not making any tournament, unless you win the CT, which is possible since you are in a conference with n other humans.  Who cares about this guy.  Start only freshman during the regular season to get them as much growth as possible.

Distro should work such that if you have these distros in the game at one time: 4,1,1,1,1 then 50% shots for first guy and 12.5% each for everyone else.

Of course it will not be exact, and there will be fouls and turnovers, etc.

For the past 6 games, I have had a distro of Selby 25, Baker 12, everyone else single digits (against all defenses).

During those 6 games, Baker has had 74 shots attempts + turnovers (66 shot attempts, 8 turnovers). Selby has had 29 (13 shot attempts, 16 turnovers).

What would cause this?

I played all SIM teams during that time and the play-by-play has no evidence of double teaming (i.e. "Selby passes out of the double team to Baker, who lays it in")

Well try, set Shelby to 30, Baker to 6, anyone else you want to shoot to 3.. Everyone else at 1.

Make sure to Save All Defenses and not just save.

I have never had issues getting people to shoot.

If that works, you can adjust from there.

His distro has always been the same against all defenses and I double-checked to make sure I had saved it that way.

I have played 7 FCP teams this season, all SIMs. In two of those games, Selby's stats reflected his distro; in those two games, he combined for 27 shot attempts, 6 turnovers and 32 points. This is exactly what I was looking for when I recruited him -- a guy who could carry the offensive load while the freshmen increased their IQs and ratings.

In the other five games against FCP teams, he combined for 5 shot attempts, 11 turnovers and 10 points.

In four games against zone teams, he combined for six shot attempts, 5 turnovers and 11 points.

In three games against man teams, he combined for 3 shot attempts, 2 turnovers and 5 points.
