How does defensive plus-minus affect the press? Topic

Is it still based on taking away outside/inside? Are you more likely to foul/create turnovers with a higher number? What does a -5 press defense look like? Is it irrelevant?

Playing a negative defense will cause you to foul more often, assuming the other team tries to go inside. Although I don't have any significant data to back this up, but I've always thought playing a + defense could possibly create more turnovers, since it would appear to apply more pressure, with double teams, on the outside.

So given that logic would it be more appropriate to run a + setting against a team that's more athletic or has a deeper bench?
