How fast and how hard? Topic

Talking about recruiting of course.

How fast will you guys typically spend your money? Have you spent 50% of your budget by signing period? 90%? 20%? Does it depend?

and

How hard until you stop before signings begin? Will you typically keep adding HVs and CVs to a recruit that is already considering you? Is it better to wait and see if there's competition? Is it important to get the WOTS message from very open to definitely leaning, etc?

It depends on a lot of factors. In a perfect scenario, I try to lock up (and by that I mean get considering me as easily as possible) my recruits by 11 am of the 2nd day of recruiting with as much as I can in reserve to protect them. I very rarley spend more than 50% of my budget before signings.

For me, it seems to change with what's happening around me.

By the 2nd or 3rd window I have a pretty good idea of what to expect and what will be needed to win a recruit.

Also depends on budget and number of openings. With 6, you can go crazy early, and can make up if something goes wrong. If you have one, you darn well better be sure before you go all in. With 6, you have to make sure you get 3 or 4, where with one, you can also shoot high and be okay with a fail.

it depends purely but its good to go fast and hard for some of your spots, 1-2/4 or 2-3/6 or something, at a minimum. occasionally that is not the case but usually its worth it to try to lock up a couple strong players early, so at least you have something to work with moving forward.
