Is it common for ML Rookies to have an 'adjustment' period to the Major's? For example, development is pretty much done but the player improves statistically based on experience?

Some users believe that but it's not true. The numbers are the numbers. There is no hidden "experience" number. For every rookie that sucks unexpectedly, there's on that overperforms. You just don't hear about the latter because no one believes his inexperience helps him.

I've had multiple times where I had a pitcher in AAA struggle bad with like a 6.00+ ERA, then I promoted him and he had a sub 3.00 ERA. I don't know if that would ever happen in real life but this game isn't always logical.

Minor league numbers are tough to use as a gauge. Some minor league parks are 4,4,4,4,4 and most of us probably don't check. It's a big change when a guy comes from that to 0,0,-3,-2,-2.

Mike is probably right and one player is a too small of a sample size to make a call, but I have noticed MY young teams tend to underperform and my older teams tend to overperform. I always joke that after 7 consecutive playoff appearances they'll squeeze the 8th one out on muscle memory.
