3.0 Newbie Question Topic

Guys,
i played a few months before 3.0 hit, and I have a second session recruiting inquiry. I just took over a team in Phelan, which I believe is in the middle of signings. When will I have access to my team? I figured it's either at the beginning of the second session or new Coach sign-up. A bit of help, please?

No idea if this helps but a ticket from yesterday on the subject.

After a long time away from HD, I'm considering taking a 2nd team. I'm eligible for a D2 team due to my experience years ago. If I take it now, world in conference championship phase, will I get to recruit in the 2nd recruiting session?

Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,

The job period is in between the two recruiting windows. If you pick up a job during that you will get a chance to fill any remaining scholarships. If you pick up a team during the coach sign ups, that is after the 2nd recruiting period and you will not.

Depends on whether you are assuming the job from the "Unemployed in previously played World" or reserving a team during season. If you return to a World you have played in previously, you actually get to recruit part 2. Reserve a team, and Sim will recruit this year and you assume the players Sim recruited your first year. Hope that helps!

I think what he's saying is it depends on which link you used to get your team.

If you went into the "Show Previous Played Worlds" link in your locker room and went into Jobs tab and applied there, you'll get in to recruit during Session 2.

If you went to the "Reserve a Team" page on the general Hoops Dynasty page, then you will get your team at the start of the new season, meaning you won't have the opportunity sign players and will play your first season with an all-Sim roster.

It was "Previously played worlds"...I'm 100% sure.
Thanks, guys...This timing for picking up a team is crucial, isn't it? The right time and you're recruiting, the wrong time you're stuck with a bad roster. I'm taking over Fairmont State and they had three open scholarships and a few I'd cut. I'm not sure if they're signing anyone...Can't check.

When going the reserve a team route, look for a team that has a lot of juniors but no seniors or freshmen. Your first season won't be great, but it won't be horrible (good IQs). And you will get to rebuild from there.

The one advantage reserving a team has is that if you're qualified, you won't have to compete with other coaches in the job cycle. First wins. (Edit: I'm not sure how it works entering through the show previous worlds. Does that win automatically too?)
