So I just noticed this and I'm baffled.
I have a FR who came in with a 2.33 HS GPA. I gave him 7 min for SH.
1st Mid-term he comes in at 3.0 gpa. Cool. I don't change anything.
1st Final he comes in at 3.4 gpa. Sweet. I don't change anything because I'm lazy with this team.
2nd Mid term he comes in at 2.2 gpa. WTF?? He's still at 7 min and I haven't touched it from day 1.
Did he get a girlfriend or develop a drinking problem after 1st semester? Maybe he thinks he's going to be a one and done after spending a single season at D2?
Anyone else seen something like this before? Seems very odd.
Yes, Benis. I've had this happen from time to time. For whatever reason, I used to end up signing a lot of recruits with low HS GPAs and I'd get one like this from time to time. I have never figured out why this happens, but I've had it happen to Srs before (2 times, MANY seasons apart). It's a wierd flukey thing. Like most other people, I generally have any trouble with a Freshman, sometimes a soph, but it usually tapers away as they move on, but I still get an occaisional dunce who remembers that he's a dunce for no apparent reason. Not much you can do either. Experience has taught me not to reduce his SH and adding to it isn't likely to pull him up either. Be glad it's not the final where you found out he's a twit, that's happened to me too, getting an out of the blue 1.9.as happened to me about 3 season's ago in Tark, I think.
