Is it a human D1 or a sim D1?
If it's a Sim D1, assuming you are at Moderate and the Sim didn't get above Very Low, it will not make a further run at the player.
If it is a human D1, you might want to pick up the Yellow Pages and look for Plan B -- a human D1 moving in on a recruit that has been offered a scholarship and is at Moderate has probably chosen to engage for one and only one reason -- to get the recruit.
There's also the question of when the recruit signs. Is it an Early or End of Period 1 recruit that will sign on the first cycle or before if the D1 gets, or is it a Late/Whenever recruit that might not sign until well into the second session, giving the D1 even more time to catch up. Also good to calculate how much of a head start you had on the D1 -- how many AP do you have invested? Did you make any promises that will compound effort? Or have you done just AP and the scholarship so far? With 3 days until signings end, I'm guessing you didn't have that big a head start on the recruit before the D1 came in.
There are a lot of variables, but if a human D1 wants the recruit, I would say it'd be pretty hard for a D2 to hold off for at least 3 days. And even if you do, you're probably going to be in a random number generator situation and playing percentages, not assuring yourself of actually getting the kid.
