So I found this game 10 years later than i should have but so far i love it. But i need some tips as a rookie. Below are my questions.

1. How much does prestige weigh in on recruiting? For example DII C+ vs DIII B. If all other measures were equal who would win?

2. Sim AI vs Real - Basically how hard is it to overcome a Sim AI if i were DIII and they were DII? What all should i consider here? Will hammering a player with attn help if they are already moderate and a division above?

3. Any general tips for a noob?

1. No one really knows
2. It is easy you just have to manage your recruits and put spending the max at session 2
3. Just try to recruit better each session and keep data

1. There is no overlap in prestige between the divisions. The worst D1 team has better prestige than the best D2 team, and the worst D2 team has better prestige than the best D3 team. Within a division, the prestige gradient is very steep in D1, less steep in D2 and D3.
2. Preferences and distance are going to answer that question. Preferences are quite powerful. At D3 and to a slightly lesser extent at D2, budget is a real constraint, so distance to the recruit matters a lot.
3. Someone could write a book. My tip: patience.

BUT, while you are running your team, pick a couple of teams in your world that are consistently successful at D3 - watch what they do - who they recruit, how they play, what ratings they focus on

best to pick teams that run your offense and or defence and perhaps at least one team near you so you can see the potentials of the guys he recruits

Welcome to the game NB!

Beating a D2 sim with a D3 isn't super easy. One trick is to unlock promises early and send them 15 minutes. If they have a wants to play preference then that'll had a Very Good multiplier. SIMs can't do that so it's a little bit of a leg up. I'd say you should be prepared to promise minutes and starts if you want to beat a D2 Sim.

Read the recruiting guide and the guide to winning at D2/D3. They are pinned at the top of the forum page. The latter guide is a bit outdated but still has some useful info.

This game has a steep learning curve so just post questions on here and you will find lots of folks who will be willing to help. Or sitemail someone for the most in depth and personalized advice. Feel free to send me a message if you want.

Thanks for all the advice, Ive read through most of the relevant forums but I'm not gonna lie it is a lot to retain. Im hoping by season 3 ill have my players and really be able to contend in my conference vs the other 2 ranked teams. Right now with the players i have i don't believe it is possible.

Nick, at DIII, I typically look at DII and DI guys and just put points on the ones I like most that I feel I may have a shot (as in a higher level team won't recruit them). I monitor them and redistribute AP from guys who get offers from DI and usually DII schools, because that guy is likely not even going to make it to the 2nd recruiting cycle. Then when the 2nd recruiting period starts, I start putting my recruiting efforts into them.

Great strategy. I do this a lot as well, except I usually just look at D1 guys.
