When playing against a zone team, the SF and to a lesser extent, the PF, are key.
If you have a PER based SF, he will tear up a 2-3. I will often start my backup SG at the 3 against the 2-3 and jack his distro up at a +2. Also, the PF is covered by the average of the SF/PF so if they have a low block SF in the game, I tend to put my better post scorer at PF to attack this.
Against the 3-2, I like to play a SF with high LP.
In general, since ratings are averaged, elite scorers do better against the zone since it's rare teams have 2 (or 3) elite defenders.
