Exhibition - Redshirt status Topic

So I am wondering a few things, would a player getting minutes in a exhibition game take away their ability to be redshirted? I was thinking of starting all my new players and giving them a lot of minutes to help improve their IQ's for the regular season.

How do more experienced players use & schedule exhibition games? Do you guys plan them like regular games or do you have a different approach to these games?

Exhibition games do not affect redshirt. You just have to redshirt before he plays a "meaningful" minute. If he's not on the depth chart, I don't think he gets into a game. If that's the case, you can delay redshirt indefinitely.

I usually just schedule teams that run O/D I don't like to play in the regular season.

Players you are considering redshirting SHOULD be able to play in exhibition games. They just cannot play in any regular season or post-season games at all or the redshirt is null and void.

If you are redshirting a player, he should not be on the depth chart at any position, and should be set to "Rest" in the Target Minutes category (not sure if it's the same for Fatigue setting).

one thing to watch - if there is a chance that you might forget to handle it between 2nd exhibition and first regular season game, you might want to redshirt sooner than that - like if work might suddenly swallow you up or like if you might decide to go out with friends, get buzzed and forget about HD when you get home

not that that ever happened to me and I missed a redshirt on a player who I took only because of the redshirt plan

nope, never
