I've got two freshmen, both playing SG / SF. Trying to decide which to try to redshirt. Either one would generally be the 3rd-string at both swingman positions, but would play ~10 mpg and probably get a few spot starts when I'm playing terrible Sims.

Addison: F IQ in both flex and press. 57 WE. Slightly better DEF.
Jacobs: F in flex, C- in press. 28 WE.

Would you weight the better IQ of Jacobs, and the opportunity to give him some playing time right away to raise the low WE? Or redshirt Jacobs so he gets an extra year of growth?

Which player has more blues/greens in key categories? Redshirt that guy to maximize his growth.

All else being equal, I would redshirt Addison because the extra year of growth, with his work ethic, is more likely to be beneficial when he is a senior.

Pretty much equal blues / greens, grimace. I'm leaning towards your line of thinking but wanted to see what others would think

Post a screenshot of both players showing potentials. That'll be the easiest way to assess.

Based on the limited information given.

I might redshirt Jacobs because of the low WE. With 28 WE Jacobs isn't maxing out without an extra year and/or starting time. Addison has 57 WE and will likely max out by his senior year anyway.

Yeah, I agree Jacobs is going to need help maxing out, but I can probably give him 15 starts this season. That should help him a bit.

Addison this year, Jacobs next year.
