I swear I am the most unlucky person ever in the NT. Jesus Christ. I was a 2 seed, close to best team in the nation, won the Yarnell in Iba, had Top 5 team defense avaergae in IBA DIVISION 1. I have two losses, one to a zone team (I have no shooting), and one poor sim to a fellow Top 5 team that was probably a 70-30 game. So I get an easy draw second round of NT, basically a sim recruited team with 2 solid to good human players. I'm up 14 with 14 to go. Then THIS happens:

I will have back-to-back Top 2 RPIs before the NT but will not make a Sweet 16 either year. Anyone else done that before?

Did you know in 23 tournament games, cubcub is 0-1 against better seeded opponents?

Did you know in 11 NTs, cubcub has lost to a worse seeded team 10 times?

Assuming every seed is supposed to beat al worst seeded teams, cubcub has passed expectations once, never met expectations, and fallen short 10 times?

And my seeds are rarely better than my teams, I was definitely underseeded in Iba this year and I don't schedule just to try to get a 1 seed at all.

Ouch. And it's not like you artificially inflated your schedule either to get a high seed. You played a legit schedule against some tough competition and won most of them.

You did take a D prestige D1 team to back to back S16 which is better than 99% of people so it's not all doom and gloom. Hang in there slugger.

I'm interested to know. Is my team defense - theirs = 31 a record for a loss in the NT?

The crazy thing is I was up 14 with 12 to go...

Haha yeah. The Wooden world has worked out for me in the NT waaay better than the Iba.

I didn't dig too deeply but this is one of the reasons I hate, hate, hate, hate playing uptempo. Years ago there was a thread on uptempo (or one that devolved into it) and several top coaches said they see more bizarre sims/results when playing uptempo compared to 'normal' and so they stay away from it. The only time I'll run uptempo is with an upperclass-heavy roster pressing team and I better have a huge stamina/ath/defense advantage or I'll run 'normal' every single time.

Seconded. I never play uptempo against a human unless the other team has a 9 man (or less) rotation and mine is at least 10. I've uptempo'd myself out of the game too many times.

Interesting...

I never really thought about getting abnormal results from running up tempo. Although I typically only go up tempo in the NT with FB/Press and try to run the other team into the ground (assuming the advantage exists).

I've had terrible results running up tempo against human opponents unless my teamI was EXTREMELY better and there was just no way to F it up.

In the game I play there was no way to F the game up. Still produced a crazy result.
