How important is the coaching hiring in this game? Does coaching really make a huge difference in the outcome of wins and losses and possible championships in this game? Has anyone ever just budgeted coaching to the absolute minimum? I feel like I could just go as low as 4 or 5 M in coaching if it's all just window dressing.

better yet, is their a Q&A topic Or forum topic from the developers that specifically talks about coaching and their ratings? I would like to know if the "patience" rating for minor league make a huge difference or not or if it's any better that say "strategy" rating....ext .

Coaching makes a difference in player development. If you hire low end coaches at every level of the minors your players will not develop to their full potential. Also, young players may add 1-3 more points to ratings while in the majors if they have very good coaches in the majors.

It is said that good coaches at the major league level help slow down the decline of older players. How much slower nobody really knows for sure as the makeup rating plays a role in decline as well. As for outcomes of individual games, most think coaches have very little to do with that.

Coach hiring has always been one of the least favorite aspects of this game. However, if you just go minimum $$$$ on coaches all the time it makes having a successful franchise long term more difficult.

Waste of money. Spend to get the best fielding instructor there is, then spend the minimum on the rest.

See, this is where it gets confusing because I thought Training budget developed minor league players the best?

Training is very important to PHYSICAL ratings (Like PWR and Arm Strength and Range) which only increase between seasons.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe coaching affects the skill ratings and training affects ratings related to strength and athleticism.

That's correct. I value 20m in training over everything.
