The story behind your team Topic

I love hearing the stories behind other coach's teams. Shout outs to indiansrck for the UNC rebuild thread that he had going for a while in the Phelan forum and beachouse for tracking his teams in Knight and Tark. I think hearing the story about how a team was built, who the star players are, or what direction the coach wants to take it add a bit of fun and character to a game of 1s and 0s.

So this is a thread to tell your team's story!

I’ll start with my IUPUI team in Phelan. I’m in my 8th season there and this team was my first shot in D1. A few of us have been working to build up the Summit League and we have a good group of coaches there. We just finished Season 114 with the 5th ranked conference RPI. I took over IUPUI in Season 107 with D- prestige. Recruiting with a D- provides some challenges to say the least and I ended up with a decent class and some solid supporting players that I rode to my first NT appearance 4 seasons later and B- prestige. That helped me recruit the guys I have today, who led the team back to the NT with a 6 RPI last season, but still disappointed with a 2nd round NT exit. I was excited for a huge year next season coming off a good season with 5 returning seniors, but our best player went EE to the draft and will leave a big hole in the offense. Still looking forward to a solid season in 115 and recruiting with a B prestige.

Here are some of the key players that have been a huge part of the IUPUI dynasty so far:

Past Players

William Harper – First big time scorer I recruited to IUPUI. Started all 4 years and is now the school’s all-time leading scorer.

Joe Politowski – 4-star recruit from the east coast. Made it to 7th on the all-time scoring list in 3 seasons before going EE to the NBA draft.

Current Players

PG Drew Rose – Has run the point since coming in as a highly recruited freshman. Very good ball handler and distributor will facilitate the offense this season.

SG Michael Waters – Should be a solid scorer in his senior season. Hoping he can fill the void left by Joe Po.

C Ivan Caraballo – Junior big man should be a good low post scorer, defender and rebounder.

Yea, I know most people could give a rats *** about other teams. Your UNC Ashville thread actually inspired this thread, but unfortunately it devolved into a ******* match pretty quickly.

Only today and only because mully needed my attention. Your thread should be fine.

Quickly? It lasted until page 6, that's an eternity around here.

Nice team though Slayter. And thanks for knocking me off in Phelan for that one dude in RS1 ;)

My bad, I lost a couple early battles and needed some depth in the post. Tried to make it quick and painless.

Yeah mike is such an attention whore he can’t help but ruin other people’s threads. Same old story for the drama queen with no life.

The irony of this post is overwhelming. You come into my thread about my team and add nothing but ********.
You come into this thread about other people's teams and add nothing but ********,

Yet I'm the attention whore ruining other people's threads. Wow. Just wow. Self-awareness, bud. Look it up. Then get some.

That's the difference between you and me. I came into your thread and made one post that got your panties in a bind (apparently you still cant get over the hurt feelings).

YOU come into everyone elses thread and derail it. But it is what it is. You have no life and apparently have the get in the last word on every thread because of that. Now I'll just sit back and watch you prove this sad point.
2/12/2018 2:30 PM
Jeez. The ol' "You always want the last word" internet trick? No, the difference between us is that I occasionally add something besides negativity to the forums. My yammerings about MY team are confined to MY threads. The ones that I'm fine with people ignoring. They're there to entertain me. If someone else wants to comment, so be it.

You're either a child or a grumpy old man. Either way, if you stop posting, I'll stop responding to your nonsense.

Anyway, to get back on topic, my first team back was West Conn St University in the Little East. Picked because the conference was empty and I hoped to fill it with users from my HBD worlds. I've only had one period of sustained success and the team guard-oriented. I signed Gorgeous George Pritts in my first class in 92. I got Terrific Todd Snell, Hoopin' Harry Hudnall and Dannie "The Porn Star" Grindstaff in 93. Won 27(2nd round exit), 22(2nd round agan) and 26(Final Four). with them. The 4 of them are all over the scoring, assists and steals all-time leader board at WCSU.

Currently have 4 players from Iowa and am in the 2nd round(S100) of the tourney. I was calling the first two "The Iowa Boys" but, now that they have fellow statesmen in tow, I might call them "The Iowan Quartet". Richard Randall and Richard Todd looks like twins except RR is smiling. RR is also at 777 OVR as a junior so I think he's got a chance to be 800 OVR in D3. Thus far, no one in our conference has claimed to have had an 800 OVR. I only had 1 at D2 Lander.
