A player with above average range may still make the occasional poor play, and likewise a player with below average range may still record plus plays.


I don't have box scores but this guy has defensive ratings of 89/83/91/94 and he recorded one - play last season at SS.

This guy is a CF with ratings of 84/86/58/59 all of which are below recs (with the exception of glove). He recorded 4 + plays last season.

Piggy-backing on this old thread, I wanted a dynamite defensive 2B so I got this dude: Player Profile: Junior Estrada - Hardball Dynasty Baseball | WhatIfSports. So far though, he's recorded 5 negative plays in just over 20 games. On paper, he looks like gold glove material. Am I missing something? Thanks!
