Draft your own AAA? Topic

Hey guys,

I'm considering starting my first league in which you draft your own AAA. So please clarify some things for me. Is it such that you can literally draft anyone just like your starting 25? Regardless of salary or position? Or do you have to draft a catcher, an infielder, two outfielders or whatever. Can you draft five hitters and no pitchers? Or vice versa? I guess I'm looking for guidelines on what restrictions exist that can't be customized per league. Thanks!

the commissioner (that's you!) says how many hitter slots and how many pitcher slots and beyond that there are no position or role requirements

i believe the extra slots don't actually show up in the draft cent of an owner until he fills his first 25 bit i might have that wrong. i know all owners get a reminder at some point to fill their AAA slots before they enter their team in the league

if an owner fails to fill a AAA slot he can still enter his team, so if you want all AAA slots filled you will have to make it a rule

salary cap i don't know

and of course hand-drafted AAA can't be called up to the majors after the deadline, just like randomly generated AAA

Thanks. I didn't realize you couldn't bring up AAA after the deadline. Shows you how often I play in AAA leagues.

The cut off for calling up AAA players can be set at the 120 day transaction deadline or at the end of the season with 3 games left. Your choice.

Standard 6/2 AAA - you can draft up to 2 pitchers, and 6 position players, your choice of position. Options are 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 20. Position players 0, 6, 12, 18, 24, 30 or 60.

The theme league wizard allows you to have them autofilled or draft your own, using real or fictitious names.

If owners select their own AAA, they do this after they draft their 25 man roster, then the AAA slots appear at the bottom of the screen. It must be done PRIOR TO entering their team into the league. A highlighted note appears explaining this...

To clarify, you can have AAA players on your roster after the deadline. You just have to call them up before the deadline and send somebody else down.

Yes, that's the way I understood it. But thanks!

So, I set it up to draft your own AAA. I left five spots for hitting and six for pitching because each team will have up to five AAA guys of any combination. What it did, was then filled in the gaps with random players. How do I keep that from happening?

I don't believe that you can. But you should be able to easily tell the difference between the real guys and the Auto-Generated ones and just let everyone know that they can't use the fake guys.

Thanks. That's easy enough, I was just hoping there was a way to prevent it.
