One Day Job Application Process Topic

Any reason why hiring can't all take place in one day?

You can apply to as many as 4 jobs. Just give them preferences 1-4. If you don't get first job, then it goes to your next highest priority. Each one of the 4 cycles would run 10 minutes apart. You wouldn't even need to waste a day to be able to do this.

If a coach leaves a school during that process that you wanted, just have them wait until the following year to apply. Or you could just have 4 6 hour cycles.

But 3 days seems unnecessary to me.

I agree with that. Also, I would like to be able to see ahead of time if someone has taken a team in the off season. I stayed in Iba another year because I wanted to move to Kentucky, but that job is gone - someone must have taken it in the off-season.

I was just mostly thinking a team that had done all their recruiting in the first period and gets knocked out in the 1st round of the conference tournament with no chance at the postseason is waiting about 2 weeks before the exhibition games start season and that's turbo world, longer in 1 per day worlds.

I usually see about 10 job changes and usually no more than 15 per world per season. Just seems unnecessary to have a 3 day job application process. Coach longevity is extremely important when it comes to recruiting a player that some of the mid major teams are a bit reluctant, I think, to move to even a higher prestige school.

Looking through the list of coaches in Phelan, with long tenures at low to mid major schools. Find it interesting how long they've stayed with their program, as opposed to moving up.

Chicago St. 22
Arkansas LR 22
Nevada 22
UTEP 22
Loyola Marymount 21
Tulsa 17
The Citadel 15
Grambling St. 14
Centenary 14
E. Kentucky 13
Oral Roberts 13
Memphis 13
Stetson 12

Yeah, surprising.

the offseason is SO long and wasted days are a money loser for WIS, it just makes no sense at all. between outright dead days and job change days, you could probably trim 2-3 full days with no impact. nearly everyone agrees with this, and the only counter response i've received was "well get another team" which many users (myself included) don't want.

Not that surprising in 3.0. It is easier to get to and maintain a B, B+ prestige at a low/mid-major and compete for decent recruits if you are smart about preferences as opposed to taking a rebuild in a major conference.

I can only focus on one team. In the past, I've tried to get a second team, but was half-assing it because I was putting so much time and effort into my first team. I'm sure there are some users that feel the same way.

I kind of feel there are too many B/B+ teams that are able to battle for high end recruits. I'm looking at one mid major B+ team that's only gotten to the 2nd round once in 4 years, but a mid major that has one tournament win in 4 years, shouldn't have the chance to battle against a major A+ team that's going to the Final 4 and winning national titles in most years.

Wizard are you referring to the A10 powerhouse St. Louis? Because they have completely earned their B+ prestige with 3peating the CT and only 2 conference losses in 2 seasons. Go Bilikins!!
